You are in love! OMG! You are!

haha... nice title yeah?.. lol...It’s been a while since the last time I wrote something about love... Being in love, or the like. Out of random thoughts, let me dig into the topic again and see how my brain reacts about it. We’ll see what is in store from my intellectual and emotional reserves. Naks!

It’s interesting how genuine love actualizes the impossible. Many people seem to realize that being in love is something which makes intangible tangible. The principles behind the feeling of insurmountable love is really unintelligible even confusing. It’s just a four lettered word but the impact is gigantic enough to prevail over the impractical. Weird but true.

Bizarre as it may seem; yet it’s clear as H2O and concrete as a ridge of rocks when you actually feel it for someone. It is really difficult to distinguish at the beginning but will be clearly unfolded by no one but you. You will ask a lot of questions. Wonder. This means you are slowly letting yourself go into the current of being in love. Sooner, you will find yourself drowned in the sweet yet challenging ocean of love. This reminds me of the lyrics, “’Cause every time I breathe I take you in and my heart beats again. Baby I can’t help it; you keep me drowning with your love…” (Drowning by Backstreetboys). Boy bands really have a good drive in reaching these kinds of messages through their songs yet Alternative bands are my favorite…

Love can be a question at the same time an answer to a question. I remember a friend asked me what I think about long distance relationships. I understand that some people say it doesn’t work and some say otherwise. Well, love will answer it for you. I don’t have the answer because I am not love. Haha.. Go ask him… figure it out… and tell me…Anyways, it does work! You just have to ask your partner about it. Have faith! It matters a lot in a relationship. If faith can move mountains and raise the dead (literally), why couldn’t it sustain love? I hope you get my point.

Is love a consistent thing? Do you feel in love with your special someone one hundred percent every day? Does it move in a gyral motion where you go round up and down? Well, I think that different people have different answers. I want to hear from you! Go make a comment. Speak your mind! Your turn now..

Certainly

In spite the distance, we share the same sky

We breathe the same air and we never question why.

In spite differences in time, we feel we are together

We wait patiently because forever is much longer.

We share the same love song, we sing the same melody

Oh how lovely is the tune and sweet the history.

Our hearts beated faster the first time we met,

Inspiring, telling us that the heavens had it all set.

Certain are the promises of compassion and love,

They will keep us stronger with blessings from above.

Trust and loyalty keep us alive,

Like how the universe for us will connive.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

People's minds are unpredictable. We might as well use it to the fullest when the mood calls it. hehe... whatever! lol.. it doesnt have a title yet cuz am still thinkin about it... maybe tomorrow.. well see.. hehe.. :-)

Pre-Valentine Events...

It was pretty much a hectic day with work in banyan tree and lots of homework for me. But, i still found the time to kind of slow down a little bit and think. As usual, i woke up a little bit late than i am supposed to wake up. It was friday and there was just a tons to do. actually, i supposed to make a comment for my political science class' online discussion yesterday but i forgot. so, i grab the last minute and posted my comment before the class started. holy cow! am so bad with keeping up with time. i need to work on with that. anyways, next subject was church history. lucky its friday! we dont have class on fridays for that subject. so, i went back to my room and worked on my note cards (for my research paper) for english 315 class which was later in the afternoon. I had to look for scholarly sources whatever it is about my topic - Poetry in Philippine Literature. OMG! i really had a hard time looking for sources because there were not enough books about my topic in the library (or am just lazy to search for one.. hehe). I mean, there's a lot about Philippine Literature in general but less than my research topic. So, come what may.. haha.. but yeah, bottom line, i was able to figure out something.. wanna know what? make a comment on this blog first.. hahah... i did approximately two hours doing my note cards. Two hours because i did not have class after my church history subject due to my first exam for business management 242 (law and ethics) which i supposed to take during the class hour; but, our professor gave us the choice to take it whenever we choose to prior saturday in the testing center. good thing i did not have classes for those two subjects or else i end up getting crazy... that is why slowing down and thinking helps a lot..

Moreover, my statistics class was a little bit lax. we did not have a quiz or anything like that but a boring discussion. I really agree that our professor Dr. Hyde is a brilliant teacher but then i just cant clearly absorb his teachings. I learn from him as long as i really put all of my focus and attention to what he is saying. Thats quiet a challenge for me because i think i have attention deficit disorder... LOL.. i just can not concentrate well on anything especially if we talk about numbers.. well, i guess it depends when am inspired or not... haha... right after the class ended, i went back to my room again and polished my note cards. i had an hour to do that before my last class for the day which is English 315. Dr. Han our professor was a bit meticulous about our note cards. He definitely was not treating us like a fresh high school grad but a college student. He is Taiwanese that's why he has a bit of accent when he speaks but it does not really matter. He is probably the best of what he does. Aside from his being asian, he teaches in an American University with a subject beyond his language. Pretty impressive huh?.. well, to cut it short, i was able to turn-in my note cards and he told me to add some more... gosh! i need to work harder.. haha... i had quiet a long time before i could finally call it a day due to my homework. Even though i finished my classes, i still had to study for my law and ethics exam and attend a group meeting for our business plan competition entry. I studied at the library for about more than an hour before i took the exam. Sad to say, due to cramming, i did not get the grade i desired. Anyways, i just then went to the caf and ate my dinner. While waiting for the clock to struck at 9 pm, i went back to my room and took a couple of time to rest - again, slowing down and think.. hehe..

I enjoyed my time with my group mates. They are Bon Maala, Liahnne Baraquiel, Nathan Campbell, and GR Literatos. Were actually late with our business plan but were doing our best to finish it by monday. Heres a video clip i took while we were brainstorming right outside the library.. actually, just them.. i was resting(walang kokontra.. haha).. hahaha.. take a look!

Here are some pictures while they were intellectually having conversations.. naks naman! hehe.... Here are Bon, Liahnne, G.R., and Nathan sa pinaka malayu...

here goes my pre-valentine events.. hahaha.. not really sweet huh! hahah... mahalos for reading! hihi..

A Monday with David Archuleta

I never knew since the beginning of the day that a personality by the name of David Archuleta was coming to the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC). It was actually my day off from work and my roommate was the one who informed me that he was actually in the center and eating his dinner at Hale Aloha. He even described to me how he looks like. Haha.. he is actually shorter than I am and a lot thinner than the image we see on tv. I am not really a diehard fun of him but I like the kind of songs that he sings and in fact, we go to the same church. The melodies and lyrics of his pieces are just simply full of emotions and truth. I don’t know if he is the one writing his songs because I notice a touch of dogma in it.

David is really popular that even old people knows him. A lot of the customers and even employees took pictures with him. Good thing there was no security or else everyone wouldn’t have the opportunity to get near. I actually was able to have a picture with him. Take a look!

Some of my friends took a picture with him too! There's dara, zani, wendy, and ron at the back.

The visit of David would not be complete without him singing a song for us.. check this out!

There you go... a monday with david..

ALoha Friday: Meetings and a Game

Aloha Fridays are one of the best days within the week. Curfew is extended till 2 am the following day. Sometimes games and movies are scheduled around campus and you get to unwind and relax. The best part is hanging out with friends and go to chevron and eat. haha..

I woke up this morning a little bit late but i was able to manage and came to class on time. It was like 45 minutes before my first class starts. We had fun and Dr. Houghton as usual did his international relations lecture as interactive as possible. We discussed about states, nations, and countries.

It was not really a busy day because i did not have quizzes or anything like that. I was kind of excited to call it a day because i wanted to rest and sleep. i did not have sleep the other night due to my dialectic journal for history class. i was cramming all the way that is why i lack sleep and need to catch up with my body clock. after all my classes, i slept from 5 pm to 7:30 and found the energy that i needed to finish my day. We had a meeting at the library with my business plan competition team. Dad mario was there and the rest of us (Me, Poloy, Bon, Nathan, and Lianne). We had a wonderful meeting and dad explained to us everything about the business plan. We are looking forward to finish the Business Plan paper on the 17th of this month and turn it in online before the february 19th deadline. I have faith in our team and our business proposal that it will go through and we will make it to the top. We will again be meeting tomorrow at the library for our executive summary. We departed the meeting with a motivation that we can do it. Winning is possible with everyones help.

Since its aloha friday, we decided to hang out and just roam around whereever our feet would lead us. It would never be an aloha friday without doing anything fun. So, we decided to just walk and walk towards cheveron and buy something to eat. We really had fun! I was with JR, Nathan, and Liahnne. They are new students who just came this semester. Pablo also came and had fun with us. We had this new invented game by Nathan. i dont even know how we call it but it was interesting. Actually mind buggling. Its like you need to ask any kind of questions among each of the members in the group and you have to figure out whatever concept they are trying to say or show by their answers or body language. It was challenging because you need to think a lot and figure out the pattern as well as the concept behind what was being agreed upon in the group. It was really fun and all of us enjoyed it. We came back to our hales around 1:30 am already and took our rest.

Aloha fridays are always fun especially if you are with friends. Close friends... Close na daw kami? hahah.... see ya around!

FC Winter Sem OS

Winter semester has come again and there's just a lot of things to think about how to pass through all the tough subjects we're into. But, before anything else happens, The Filipino Club opening socials must not be forgotten.. hehe...

We just had it tonight at the McKay Building 127. The activity was supposed to start at 9 pm but a lot of us were late. What else can i say? were supposed to be Filipino's and we have our own time... duh! hihih.. lol... well, the party started with a bang! imitating the Philippines noontime show "Wowowee" with Fidel as Papa Willie, Nyla as Mariel, and Junah as Powkii... it was such a fantastic introduction which made me forget i had a camera and i was supposed to take pictures of them doing the "iyug yug mu.." or somethin like that... hahaha...

Games were a big part of it and the introduction of the new members and officers as well. We had human bingo and the competition for whoever is the most beautiful and handsome among the members... Jessa Radin was such a good sport and Dennis as well... both of them make a good love team, arent they? take a look at the video clip. They are the winners and of course the People's Choice awardees.. haha :-)

i really enjoyed the nights activity. The food was so good! we had pansit and lumpia. It was like a storm came in after the eating time because not one particle remained... even the containers... hahaha.. just kidding am just exaggerating... :-) of course? theres no other way i can describe how all of us enjoyed the best cooking of JV Canlas except that we ate everything including the pans.. lol...[inflation mode] Everyone was able to eat but i think all of us wanted more though... just to be honest... Well, i believe as part of the committee's, we were constrained by our budget due to our other previous activities i geuss. The point is, we had fun and we enjoyed the food! See our smiles?

The program was well planned. Thanks to Nyla Person who was responsible for the whole thing. She has good ideas, no wonder why my friend is deeply in love with her.. hahaha... One more thing, someone caught my attention tonight.. haha... i hope it wont be just a spur of the moment but something that i could look forward to... i hope.. hihi.... so much for that, i need to stay on top of my academics... so enough from our opening socials... study mode now [as if] haha... mahalo for reading!

The NeYo Experience...

One of the best live performances that I’ve ever seen in my entire life is NeYo’s. He does not only sing perfectly but dance as well. I am pretty sure a lot of oldies don’t know him or even his music but he is very popular with the new generation. I say the new generation because I am part of it (oopss walang kokontra!.. hehe). Let me tell you what happened before we got inside Blaisdell Arena where the concert was held. If you happen to read my previous blog, you’ll be able to figure out the gist of what I am going to transmit. First and foremost, the concert was held last January 5th and I was with my fellow NeYo fan Zani Wong our very own BYUH Idol the other year. So much for that, both of us I have to admit were excited to see NeYo live in concert.

I actually thought that we won’t be able to see the concert because we were anticipating that we will arrive late, probably won’t be able to get hold of the car that were supposed to barrow from Joyce, and they might ran out of tickets. Carl and I met to get the car around 4:00pm but because of the delays and circumstances beyond control, we were able to get the car around 5:30 pm. The concert will start at 7:30 in the evening, and we were still on our way going to down town Honolulu at 6:00 pm. The approximate travel time that we could arrive at the concert area is about more or less than 1.5 hours depending on the traffic. I was thinking, “Gosh! I just don’t want to go to town for nothing except to watch NeYo’s concert.” We actually still don’t have our tickets during the time. We still need to purchase it in the ticket booth of Blaisdell Arena. Carl who was driving just listened to Zani who was telling me to prepare so that we won’t get disappointed that much… haha… She was talking about movies that we could possibly watch at the theaters but my mind was really focused on watching the concert. Haha… Good thing we arrived at the venue earlier than we expected. We were still able to purchase our tickets with an upper level accommodation. It was 35 in the upper most level, 45 in the upper level, and 55 bucks on the floor for the tickets and we decided to buy the 45 bucks. It was not that far but it wasn’t near though. It was like a relief when we finally held r pass going into the concert. You can now figure out how we love NeYo’s music. Hehe… Check out the ticket!

The concert started with the local DJ’s heating up the crowd with hip hop music. I think there were actually 3 filipino’s out of the 5 who were rapping and involving the crowd so much. I remember one said, “Philippines pride you all!” There were a lot of people who were watching but the arena was not really full. Below is the stage and one of NeYo's performances.

It was so intense that the people were excited to see NeYo and all of a sudden he went into the stage singing his first song, Because of You. You can hear him sing well but the screams almost cover his performance. It was not bad though, the sound system was really great. He sang most of his popular songs but not all of them.

I really like the first song he rendered and of course, Go On Girl, Miss Independent, and Closer to name a few. I can say that 45 bucks was worth it! Super! Hihi… It was really an amazing experience. He sings better in a live performance than a recording… I would really love to post the videos here but its taking me forever to upload it. I think my connection sucks tonight.. anyways, i got some pictures though.. hehe.. Proof that Zani and me were in it, all the way! hihi..

Before we came back home, we dropped by a restaurant which I forgot the name and ate something. We finally arrived home around 10-ish… I was with Carl, JV, Jasmine, and Zani in the car.

You will never be mine...

Due to circumstances beyond control, my thoughts came up with this poem (last year)... its nothin serious just plain words..haha... its entitled, "YOU WILL NEVER BE MINE"

So many days I spent thinking,

So many nights i spent praying,

From winter to spring to summer and fall,

Just can’t get you off my mind at all.

Reality pains, reality hurts,

Reality sucks, reality bites,

What more can i say?

That’s what reality pays.

I am yours, you are not mine,

Sounds being a martyr yet sublime.

You always have me, all the time,

Even though you will never be mine….

What do you think? hihi....

Hitch ride times two!

Waiting for almost an hour in a bus stop is not so much of a happy thing to experience, unless you’re with your special somone. Good thing I was with my Pareng Carl and the moment was not that dull. We didn’t have a car so the best thing to do was commute and use “the bus” to reach to our destination. It was also hard for us to contact the person that we’re supposed to meet because we did not have a celphone. The schedule was set to meet at 4:30 pm before Joyce, the one responsible for the car that we’re going to use to watch the concert, goes to work. At almost 5:15, finally, the bus came and we just hurriedly jump into it heeding to her place. The original plan was, we take the car with us and drive Joyce to work and fetch Zani at the back of PCC. Because we were late, Joyce just drove herself to work without a driver’s license but a students permit. So, we arrive at her house and the car was already gone with her. Haha.. it was such a funny incident. We were like waiting for almost an hour to catch the bus and we arrived at the place without the car. Pareng Carl and I actually thought that there was nobody in their house. We knocked the door so hard and after 10 minutes or so, her sister heard it and came down. She said, “oi carl! Umalis na si joyce… ma li late na kasi sya sa trabaho.” Our minds were like saying, “Holy cow! Hahaha.” We did not anticipate that Joyce would not wait for us any longer because she has to work. We need to see her because she has the car and of course the key to the car. The cost for both of us to ride the bus was four dollars and that’s the only money we had. We still had the transfer ticket though but it would take us time to wait for another bus to arrive. A wonderful idea came to our minds so we could easily get to PCC – hitch a ride….

We had a bet that if Pareng Carl could stop a car and would let us ride toward PCC , ill give him a reward. I actually thought to do the same to him but I refused. I just don’t have the guts to stop a moving car along the Kamehameha highway just to let us hitch a ride. I learned a lesson after we were able to make it to PCC though (No guts! No Glory..hehe). There were like 15 cars that passed by us and still Pareng Carl was consistent enough with the idea of hitching a ride. It was wayyy fun! I actually enjoyed it. Finally, a black truck driver noticed us and apparently stopped in front of us – such was our first hitch ride. The guy dropped us along Hau’ula. It was a wonderful adventure for us. But, we still need to get to Laie at PCC which would take us around 5 minutes (not by walk) from where we’re at. So, we hitched a ride for the second time and it was a blue ford truck 1995 driver who pitied us and took us to PCC. It was such a wonderful ride! We actually took pictures of ourselves to prove that we did hitch a ride twice in a row. One thing was certain, i owed him a reward. hehe..

It was an experience that will never be forgotten. Imagine hitching a ride for two times consecutively. It was incredible! Pareng Carl was the one who made our experience possible because he was confident enough to make the trucks stop so we could hitch a ride.. haha… Job well done carl! Next stop is our NEYO experience…
